Shannon's Baptism (August part two)

This past Christmas we were given the most beautiful Baptism gown for Shannon. We knew that it would be a wonderful family heirloom to pass down for years and years to come. I wanted to make sure that in 100 years when my great-great-great-grandkids are wearing it, they know who the gown started with, so we had it embroidered with Shannon's name, birthdate and baptism date. It came out looking just gorgeous!

On August 14th we all came together for Shannon's Baptism. We enjoyed Mass and all the kids did very well! John was nicely distracted with his phone and both Shannon and Scarlett made little peeps here and there but were great!

He looks way too grown up for my likes here!

John was sitting with Bert and asked to take a photo of me, I think he did a pretty good job!!

After Mass we went into a small Chapel for the Baptism service. I love this photo of us. There is something about it that is just so special.

We were so happy that Andy and Victoria said yes to being Shannon's Godparents. We know that they will always be a special part of her life.

Beautiful!

The ceremony started and they asked who were the Godparents. Shortly following this photo Shannon started getting a little cranky, poor baby! I decided to stand a rock her to try and soothe and comfort her, it worked well and she feel asleep!

Then it was for Shannon's part of the ceremony. Shannon was woken up when the Priest poured the water on her head!Photobucket

Jeff and I both had to hold her, there was a lot of dress and a lot of baby in there! :)

Then we sat back down and Shannon was not happy! Here the Priest is drawing the cross on her head and she is literally red and angry. She started screaming after this.

I really tried everything to comfort her, but there was little I could do so I just shrugged my shoulders and let her cry it out. Did I mention she was loud?

John was perfect the whole time! So proud of my little guy!

Shannon rallied for photos after the ceremony. :)

Shannon, Mommy and Daddy. Oh how we love her!

Grandma Lolus, Auntie Kris and Shannon!  Check out that smile!

It was wonderful to have the Attanasio's there as well! Shannon started getting a little cranky here!

Then it was time for the Great-Grandma's . . . Shannon getting a bit more upset!

And then she lost it again, Aunt Janet and Uncle Jim tried to cheer her up!

We went back to Papa and Bert's for some yummy lunch and cake!

This was Shannon's third outfit for the day. Once again she found her second wind and was back to all smiles!

Andy and Victoria gave her a beautiful cross necklace! What a wonderful way to remember the day!

Hehehehehe Papa fell asleep on the couch after eating cake, we were all waiting for the fork to drop!

Since we hadn't taken a photo at church of Papa, Bert and Shannon we got one in at home!

Once we were home Shannon took about three seconds to fall asleep all snuggled in her comfy crib.

It was such a special day. We were surrounded by friends and family and everyone who loves us. It was the last offical day of our summer as Jeff and I had to go back to school the next day and I wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way. Times like this always remind me of the important things in life and that they aren't things at all but people. Feeling loved and happily remembering this day.  :)
