John you are funny, happy, silly, stubborn, sometimes shy, awesome big brother and so much more.
We started your birthday celebration with a special dinner at Grandma Lois's house.
Then it was your big day! You decided on having a bowling party, a change from the park parties that you've had in the past. I think everyone was happy that it was inside and air conditioned. You had a blast sweetie!
We made a special trip to Publix to pick out your balloons, you picked the colors all on your own!
Then your best buddy from school showed up, Kyle. You two are so cute together! Always giving each other a big long hug like you haven't seen each other in years!
Shannon was checking things out!
Then more and more friends and family started showing up! And it was time to bowl!
There was yummy pizza and other fun treats too!
Lots of people wanted to help you celebrate such a big day!
We got all of your friends together for a big group photo!
Then it was back to bowling!
Next up was birthday cake time!!!

Thankfully we got a photo of the four of us on our way out. It was a really fun party!
We got home and you wanted to start opening your presents! We let you open a few before it was time for us to go to another party and then another one after that! Talk about a full day!!
You were SO excited to open the "BIG HUUUUGE" present from Aunt Janet and Uncle Jim!
It was your own fishing pole!!
We went to Kyle's party at Home Depot where you (really me) got to make and paint a truck.
You and Kyle are really two peas in a pod! As soon as we got home, the first toy you wanted to play with was the play dough, I'm not sure if it was because it was play dough or if it was because it was from Kyle!
The next morning you woke up and it was your official birthday! You wouldn't really turn 4 until 6:57 that night, but you didn't seem to care! ;) It must be a sign of the times that one of your presents was a cool new game we downloaded on the iPad for you to play with! You loved it!
You're such a great big bro that you even let Shannon in on the fun of opening your presents!
Watching you open presents and get so excited is so much fun!
But really you just wanted to get back to that game!
Then it was time for your birthday breakfast tradition of don don's and chocolate milk!
Shannon thinks don don's are okay, she doesn't quite share your enthusiasm for them though!
Since Grandma Bert and Papa were out of town for your party they asked us to come over to give you your big birthday gift!
You were so excited to open the dreamlites puppy dog that you had seen on TV and asked for over and over again!
Then it was time to peruse through the newspaper with Bert, something you love to do too!
Mommy and Daddy asked you what you wanted to do for your birthday and you decided on a trip to the zoo!
We took our time and did all of the things you wanted to do!

It was SUCH a hot day we decided to head back and take a dip in the pool!
Shannon like that idea too!
We got home and all you were interested in was all of your NEW TOYS!!!
That night we had popsicles and stayed up late. I've gotta say, I think we did your birthday right! We love you John. Happy Birthday!!
